Source Plan Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation
In the source plan for education of the Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation (Stichting Vriendelijk Orde Houden), the members describe their motivations and the means by which they put these motivations into practice. The source plan also describes the organisation of the foundation.
This source plan is based on a construction sheet with seven faces (see photo below): the six faces of a cube and one additional face to close the cube. On the inside, the members of FFT write down their motivations. On the outside, they describe their actions. In this way, the source plan translates motivations into concrete action in education.

Source Plan Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation
We feel the Urgency to use our Network
to share Knowledge about education through the Internet.
Together, under the banner of the Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation, we make it possible to work Inclusively (leaving no one out) — keeping in mind the image of Stained glass —
and, with Empathy, to help one another Realise dreams (turning imagination into reality).
Teachers Autonomously determine which elements of FFT suit their own teaching situation. They Interpret the FFTapproach and adapt it where necessary.
FFT provides Guidance to teachers and educators. In the future, the foundation aims to establish the Friendly and Fair Teaching Academy.
Below follows an explanation of the terms used in the source plan.
1.1 Urgency
In this time of growing tension in society (February 2026), members of the foundation support teachers and educators with their educational expertise in implementing FFT.
1.2 Network
The members of FFT develop and share their ideas through a website. Teachers’ responses and additions to FFT are included on the site. In this way, a growing network of teachers and educators who apply Friendly and Fair Teaching is developing.
2.1 Knowledge
Members of FFT possess teaching experience and educational expertise.
2.2 Internet
The most up-to-date version of the ideas developed by FFT members can be found on their website. The website is available in both Dutch and English:
www.vriendelijkordehouden.nl
www.friendlyandfairteaching.com
3.1 Together
The content of FFT has emerged through collaboration between:
- contributors listed on the Friendly and Fair Teaching website (see About us)
- contributors listed on the Friendly and Fair Teaching website (see About us)
- participants in the VOH course
- experts (both technical and educational) who contribute to VOH.
3.2 Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation
In October 2025 the foundation officially registered its current name with the notary: Stichting Vriendelijk Orde Houden (Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation). The name and purpose of the foundation now correspond (previously the foundation was called Stichting Rapucation). More information can be found under About us.
FFT focuses on:
- beginning teachers who need support in maintaining order in the classroom
- experienced teachers who are open to a new approach.
The Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation is a public-benefit organisation (PBO – ANBI in Dutch) dedicated to education. FFT is registered with the Netherlands at the Central Register for Short Vocational Education (Dutch: CRKBO) and is therefore exempt from VAT.
4.1 Inclusive
“A class is only happy when everyone is happy.”
This statement by Kanamori expresses the ideal educational situation towards which FFT members strive.
4.2 Stained Glass

Image: Stained glass
The image of stained glass is inspired by the cover of the book Dionysius the Areopagite (2015). On the cover, sunlight shining through stained-glass windows breaks into different colours and shapes. For FFT this image symbolises a future in which we recognise one another as human beings with inherent value.
5.1 Empathy
Empathy enables us to place ourselves in another person’s position and understand their particular characteristics. Through empathy, teachers and educators can understand their pupils and see the world from their perspective.
5.2 Facilitating Dreams
Members of the Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation aim to enable everyone in education — teachers, pupils and staff — to flourish. Teachers encourage their pupils to dream. Let us make education a place where dreams can be realised.
Friendly and Fair Teaching Classroom Management Process

Image: The Friendly and Fair Teaching Classroom Management Process
This diagram shows the process that has developed around the Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation.
The research and evidence base comes from four sources:
- professional experience of teachers
- educational research and theory
- expertise from teacher training institutions
- expertise from teachers holding a FFT diploma.
Dissemination takes place not only through the website, but also through courses, team training sessions and course books.
Impact and accreditation: see section 6.2.
6.1 Autonomy
Every person determines and influences their own life.
As soon as a human being appears with enough originality within themselves (so that they do not say, ‘One must accept the world as it is,’ but rather, ‘Whatever the world may be, I remain connected to my own originality, which I do not wish to change at anyone’s command’), at that very moment a metamorphosis of human existence takes place. Then angels look on with curiosity, and dark demons stretch their limbs tensely and say: ‘That will be a tough challenge for us.’” Kierkegaard (1971), Søren

6.2 Interpreting FFT
Participants in FFT courses or readers of the FFT course book look for applications that work in their own situation. Their adaptations and improvements can be found on our website under Examples – Good Practice. At the bottom of each page, the Credits section indicates who contributed a particular solution or improvement.
Within ‘Student-Centred Education’, pupils are given the opportunity to determine part of the lesson content themselves. More information can be found in the perspective ‘Planning Lessons’.
7.1 Guidance
Members of the Friendly and Fair Teaching Foundation guide teachers and educators during and after a FFT course.
7.2 Friendly and Fair Teaching Academy
In the future, the foundation intends to establish the Friendly and Fair Teaching Academy.
