Process behind Friendly and Fair Teaching

Figure: FFT process
This diagram shows the process that has evolved around Friendly and Fair Teaching
The input – our research and evidential base – comes from four sources:
- Professional experience of teachers
- Educational research and theory
- Expertise from teacher training programmes
- Expertise of teachers who hold a VOH diploma
Friendly and Fair Teaching shares the knowledge gathered through team training, courses, and course books.
The aim of this process is to help teachers work with the FFT approach — and, in doing so, to teach in a friendlier and fairer way.
(See About Us for more information about the aims of FFT.)
When a teacher receives a diploma after a classroom visit from a FFTcoach, it often becomes clear that they have given the method their own unique interpretation. We publish these interpretations on our website as ‘Good Practice Examples‘.
As other teachers draw inspiration from these examples, the website develops a self-reinforcing effect — creating a growing network of Friendly and Fair teaching.
